Farmers and Birds live around the Lagoon

"Extensive shallot farms lie along the edge of the lagoon, especially around Anloga."

Keta Lagoon is the most important site for marine birds in Ghana, and a genuine birdwatchers' paradise, with 76 water associated species recorded and concentrations of up to 100,000 individuals not unusual in the European winter.
