To port lovers

'Tema city and port lies in southeastern Ghana along the Gulf of Guinea (Atlantic Ocean), 29 km east of Accra. Tema Port is the biggest of two sea ports in Ghana', the second one being Takoradi.

The Port of Tema is more than a mere loading or unloading place for goods. It is also a traffic junction, where goods are transshipped and transit cargo destined for the hinterlands/landlocked countries of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are handled.

Tema was commissioned in 1962. The city is a monumental legacy of the late Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, first President of Ghana, who was anxious to see rapid industrialisation of the country.
